Plant responses to the extreme freeze event were variable with individual creosote plants exhibiting between 1% and 100% canopy die-back. In this image, two adjacent shrubs showed very different responses. One aspect of the study will determine the physiological mechanisms underlying the observed differences in canopy die-back among individuals in the weeks following the freeze
