On Tuesday, May 18, 2010, around 3:30 PM, Mark Lindquist, the Shortgrass Steppe (SGS) LTER field crew and 26 visitors at the SGS Research and Interpretive Center (RIC) watched the first on-the-ground tornado of the day north of the SGS field station.
