LTER scientists from the California Current Ecosystem (CCE) are convinced that climate change is already affecting marine life in the California current ecosystem.

At a recent American Society of Limnology and Oceanography meeting, researchers Mike Landry, Mark Ohman, and colleagues at the Scripps Institution of Oceanography presented results showing that climate change is having substantial impacts on phytoplankton at the CCE site.
