A very interesting article featuring the work of Baltimore Ecosystem Study (BES) LTER scientists is carried in the May-June issue of ZooGoer magazine, a membership publication of the Friends of the National Zoo published online by the Smithsonian Institution.

The article by Christopher Mims, a freelance science writer based in Brooklyn, New York, is titled, "A City's Living Secrets." It focuses on the uniqueness of Baltimore's urban ecology and cites the LTER site's long term study of the complex urban landscape. BES researchers Morgan Grove, Charles Nilon, Katalin Szlavecz, Paige Warren, and Chris Boone are extensively quoted in the article.
