The role of burning in management and conservation of tallgrass prairie, particularly in the Flint Hills region of northeast Kansas, was the focus of a story by National Public Radio (NPR) reporter Dan Charles that aired Monday morning, April 28, 2014, on NPR Morning Edition. Charles visited with local ranchers and was on-site at the Konza Prairie Biological Station for a prescribed burn this spring.
