The communication and social network team at the Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Network Office are pleased to announce the new LTER Facebook and Twitter feeds. The U.S. LTER Facebook page is located at https://www.facebook.com/uslter and our Twitter tag is @USLTER.
Like millions of people around the world, many LTER scientists and students are already active on Facebook and Twitter, and LTER’s embracing of these social media is considered a natural progression.
LTER’s Facebook and Twitter policies and strategies will continue to evolve as we receive feedback from users and learn more about what kind of information those who visit our Facebook page and follow our Twitter feeds find useful.
The goal of the new FB and Twitter feeds is to facilitate general public commentary and conversation regarding the LTER Network and its research. There will be three primary posters to the Facebook and Twitter feeds:
- Danielle Stevens, Technical Writer
- McOwiti O. Thomas, Public Information Officer
- Leanne Yanabu, Web Designer
all based at the Network Office. The general public may also post comments to both the Facebook page and Twitter feed.
Every attempt will be made to cover and convey LTER-related scientific information to the widest possible audience. To that end, if you believe any items were misposted or misrepresented, please email social-media@lternet.edu and we will correct the error.
