LTER scientist wins 2011 Stockholm Water Prize

Stephen R. Carpenter, a Lead Principal Investigator at the North Temperate Lakes (NTL) Long Term Ecological Research site and Professor of Zoology and Limnology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been awarded the 2011 Stockholm Water Prize. The Stockholm Prize is the most prestigious prize for outstanding achievement in water-related activities in the world.

The award was announced during the occasion of the UN World Water Day on Tuesday, March 22, but Carpenter will receive his award in Stockholm from H.M. King Carl XVI Gustaf of Sweden on August 25, 2011.
