The LTER network bulletin board is up and running at Colorado State University. It is running on a Sun 3861 named Goecoccyx and can be accessed via telnet or over a phone line with a modem. The telnet address of Geococcyx is 129.82.104.22 and the telephone number is 303-491-5683.
When you connect you will see a prompt for a login name. The login name is lter (be sure to use lower case for all responses). This will get you directly into the bulletin board program. The first time you log onto the bulletin board you will have to provide identification information. In subsequent sessions you will only have to provide your name and password.
The bulletin board is organized into conferences and subconferences. It is very easy to add conferences in response to topics of interest to LTER scientists. Please feel free to make suggestions about conferences in which you would like to participate. There is a suggestions sub-conference under the general conference.
