Charles Hall (Luquillo Experimental Forest LTER) and Marshall Taylor received a grant for $70,000 from the NSF's division of Small Business Innovation to develop their spatial models in an object-oriented context to make them much more flexible and user friendly. The proposal was based to a significant extent on earlier work Hall and Taylor had done on watershed modeling in Luquillo, and they will be including Puerto Rico examples as part of model developments under this grant.
