(left): Primary productivity, chlorophylla and photosynthetic efficiency (Light Utilization Index; LUI) in the east lobe of Lake Bonney during the transition from 24 h sunlight to total darkness. The graphs represent a composite of date collected between 1991 and 2008. White dots represent data used to create the graph; inner and outer white lines represents PAR levels of 0.25 and 0.50 µmol quanta m-2s-2, respectively.
