The Long Term Ecological Research (LTER) Ad-Hoc Diversity Committee grew out of the 2012 All Scientists Meeting (ASM) through workshops, conversations, and a synthesis working group. We're organizing our first Diversity & Inclusion workshop to take place at the 2015 ASM in Estes Park, CO, this September, and we hope you'll attend! Please mark your calendar for Tuesday, September 1, 2015, at 10am.

In this workshop, you will hear from a range of sites that have taken concrete, deliberate actions to foster diversity and inclusion, and seen remarkable results. Whether you're looking for some fine-tuning or wondering where to start, this workshop is a great place to learn from your peers. Proposed focus topics include: 1) building mentoring systems, and 2) developing formal diversity plans, but we would like to hear what other questions and topics YOU want included.

We hope that you will make sure your site is represented in this important workshop. Our goal is to have participants from all sites so we can explore LTER-wide challenges and strategies for fostering, sustaining and benefiting from diversity in all its forms.

If you're planning to attend, please sign up at http://goo.gl/forms/mGVlZU4WnK. Later in the summer we'll send out a brief survey to registered participants to gather your input and help make sure the workshop addresses your needs.

Thank you in advance for your participation!
